Voluminous Million Lashes Oh My!

I had a special occasion to attend this evening and I needed my eyes to be on point. I went to CVS. (I will buy make up almost anywhere, lol.) I came accross L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes.  I must say I was very impressed.  I paired it with a gold color eye shadow and my lashes just popped.  It is amazing what a little mascara can do for you.  Mascara always stays in my purse.  It is an instant way to look polished.

Good Heels are Hard to Find

When I saw these heels I fell in love (figuratively) immediately.

Everyone woman should have a pair of gold heels in their closet.  I have several.

I know that some may wonder: Why do you need several pairs of shoes in the same color?  Because……the shoes are for different occasions and different outfits.  Some heels are for the office, some for girls night out, some are for church, and etc.  There is nothing wrong with finding a color that works for you.  Just make sure to keep some variety in your closet.  Now I am looking for a pair for leopard print heels.  I know they are out there somewhere!

Who Needs Foundation????

Who needs foundation when you've got concealer?  That's my new motto.  I purchased L'Oreal's True Match Crayon Correcteur at the grocery store and I am loving it.  I everything about it including the low price (under $10), the easy to use crayon format, and that it works fabulously.  It may be a while before I wear a full face of foundation again. I have pretty good skin except for a few blemishes that come and go. I think this is my new not so secret weapon.

My new make up tool amongst my other go to make up favorites.

Pretty in the Park

It was a beautiful day to go to the park.  I decided to get dolled up and demonstrate how to pull of the Fall 2014 fashion trends.  I got my Pretty This 'N' Pretty That Eye Paint in Midnight and slathered on the L'Oreal True Match™ Super Blendable Makeup in Soft Sable to pull off a flawless look.

Vibrant and bold colors are in for this Fall so I whipped out my hot pink peplum top and skinny jeans.  I added a black belt with studs that I got from Just Add Jeans to give the outfit an edge.

I put on my new black sneakers with studs to add a fun and edgy twist to my girly style.  I am so excited about sneakers for this Fall.

All this Texas heat has me thirsty so I stopped by the water fountain.  Got the perfect picture to capture my modest smokey eye with Pretty This 'N' Pretty That's Eye Paint in Midnight.  Yes, you can wear a conservative smokey eye during the day.

Stay beautiful inside and out,

An interview with a beauty star…..Moneyka Willis

PTNPT had the pleasure of interviewing Moneyka Willis, a noted hairstylist out of Maryland.  Although getting ready to open another hair salon in just two weeks, Moneyka took time out of schedule to share her wisdom with PTNPT and for that we are definitely grateful.
Moneyka has been doing hair since she was just in the seventh grade!  Monekya remembers doing finger waves for just $5, but she has come a long way.  Monekya has opened several hair salons and written for several magazines and is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the beauty industry.
When asked what advise would she give a young person looking to break into the beauty industry, be it hair, nails, or etc Moneyka had this to say, “A lot of people try to emulate.  It is all right to copy as long as you copy the right cat, but put your own into it.  That’s how you stand a part.”  PTNPT loves that advise.  Check out Moneyka Willis on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/moneyka.willis?fref=ts.

Fall 2014 Fashion: What's Hot!

 (Gold Heels from Shiekh Shoes)

August is already here and if you like all the other fashionistas out there you are gearing up for your fall wardrobe.  Not sure what is hot this Fall 2014?  Have not fear, PTNPT is here.
Designers had the fashion models gracing the runways with what will be trending this fall.  My personal favorite is the sixties trend.  Valentino and Louis Vitton got it right in my opinion.
We love the knit trend as well.  Marc Jocobs always keeps it fabulous.  Emilio Pucci and Versace really brought in the bright and vibrant color trend that we can’t wait for this fall.  We are also feeling the sneaker trend coming this fall.  Our pretty feet could use some rest.  But don’t throw away your heels yet, we certainly won’t.

My Three Strand Twist Adventure with Shea Moisture

I recently decided to try three-stranded twist on my hair.  I knew I needed something to assist with my hair to hold the twist so I went out to look for hair care products for twists.  I came across Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie by Shea Moisture at Target and decided to give it a try.  I loved the cream.  It did not flake at all.  Also, I did not have any frizz when I untwisted my hair.  The product was less than $10 so that was a plus.  I did pretty good with my first three strand twist and I didn't have to spend a fortune.

Have a pretty day,

A PTNPT Makeover Story

Pretty This 'N' Pretty That was doing what we usually do....makeup!  Dominque was gracious enough to volunteer to be PTNPT's supermodel of the day.  One of the co-founders of PTNPT gave Ms. Dominque a fabulous makeover.  Of course she used Pretty This 'N' Pretty That's own make up to do it.  The Money green shade popped so amazingly like it always does.  The Hot Pink eye paint also worked as a lipstick!  One word: Fabulous!

See the before and after!

Green but not so mean!

Summer is almost here, and it is time to get wild and daring with your make up.  Create this look by using a bold and sparkly green shadow (such as Pretty This 'N' Pretty That's eye pain in Money green).   Then, add lashes and mascara.  Finish the look with your favorite gloss or lipstick.  Then, it is off to people watch with the girls.  However, with this look, all eyes will be on you!

Beauty in Transitioning

Converting your hair from chemically relaxed to natural can be frustrating, but don’t give up!  When I first transitioned from chemically relaxed to natural, I didn’t have as many resources to help me as there is available today.  Now, there are several products and blogs that give helpful tips on the transition phase.

Here are some helpful tips that you can use during your transitioning phase.
1.       Keep your ends trimmed.
2.       Style your hair in low maintenance styles that does not require your hair to be bone straight.  My favorite was getting rod sets.  Some people braid their hair or get twist and let them down.  That requires patience, so if you try it then make sure you are really up for it.
3.       Keep your hair moisturized.
4.       Detangler is a must!
5.       Keep a wide tooth comb.  I like to comb my hair in the shower when I wash my hair.  It just seems easier to comb your hair with the detangler freshly in your hair.
6.       Don’t put too much heat or strain on your hair.  Again, look for styles that don’t require a bone straight look.
7.       Get some helpful tips from blogs.  There are a lot of blogs out there with very helpful tips and support.
Remember not to give up.  Give yourself time to really learn your hair in its natural state.
